Carrbridge Films, local, entirely youth- run, independent film company present 'Rachel Sermanni and Company' a concert being hosted as part of the production of their latest film, 'The Guild'. Rachel (17) has recently gained national recognision after a 'compelling performance of one of Burn's most famous pieces' at the Homecoming Burns Supper in Alloway (January 2009), hosted by Alex Salmond, Scotland's First Minister, which marked the official 250th Aniversary Celebration of Robert Burns.
Rachel also performed with fellow young musicians, Kerr McWilliam, Owen Sinclair and Thomas Caldwell at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow - a performance which captured the attention of Donal Shaw, the organiser of Celtic Connections and this led to her being recommended to the organisers of the Burns Celebrations.
While Rachel has performed in various locations around the area, from supporting Tommy Reily at the IronWorks (Inverness) to performing as part of the Music Festival in Boat of Garten this will be the first time she will host her own concert in Carrbridge, her home-village - it's set to be a night of great musical talent!
