Hag of the Bridge was our very first production under the name of 'Carrbridge Films'. The idea for the film came one night as we sat at the bridge, wondering what to do. The question was asked: "What do you want to be when your older." and the answers put forwards included a "filmmaker," "actress," and "model," so it seemed infitting that our next activity be to create a film.

What followed was a heated discussion about what this film could be about. The fact we were at the bridge at night meant a creepy element was always going to come into play and this was the hag, where the rest came from is but a myth!

'Carrbridge Films' was formed that night by Fergus Thom, Joanne Wood and Jennifer Wood - 24th May 2006.

It was decided that we would begin filming this new venture the day after. Someone had a wig and we stockpiled white facepaint from the local spar, with the aim of the 'model' becoming the hag. Obviously this didn't appeal to the model and she dropped out of her role. No time was given and another hag was found that same day, Rachel Sermanni. Performing that very night at the bridge for the first time she was filmed commiting one of her murders in the film, much to the delight of local boyracers who thought (having not seen the cameras under the bridge) that the 'crazy girl on the bridge' was a loonatic.

We started out Hag of the Bridge with no real story in mind, we simply filmed a murder scene without a care in the world as to how this would fit into a greater plot - we later refilmed part of this first scene.

Hag of the Bridge never really had a full script and untill a few days before the last scene was filmed we didn't know how it would end but perhaps that added to it's rustic charm. We planned shoots before they occured and that worked - but it did mean that we wasted a lot of time filming parts that would eventually not be used and this perhaps contributed to the overall production period of 16 months.

In June 2007 we held a cast premiere for the main cast and then in September it was premiered as part of Carrbridge Live 2007, with both a matinee and evening showing, both of which were well attended and following reveived positive comments.

Once the premiere was over we produced 50 DVDs altogether, each hand cut covers that had been uniquely designed to make the case open the wrong way round (at least that's what we're saying!). These were all sold and though since then a few people have asked for coppied we will not release any more, it was a one off and limited edition release, so those who do have them should feel very privilidged.

There have been numerous talks about bringing Hag of the Bridge back for a second film but it was eventually decided that this would not be benificial as those who missed the first would feel at a disadvantage. We are still considereing producing a short follow up film though...so stay tuned!
