Carrbridge Films is an independent, entirely youth-run, film company based in Carrbridge, a small village in the heart of the Highlands of Scotland, Cairngorm National Park.
Since launching in May 2006 we have worked on various projects alongside a several organisations ranging from Community Arts Programmes and working in schools to collaborating with local artists.
Our aim is simple: produce high quality work while raising awareness and interacting with the local community or raising money for charity. We are currently producing
The Guild and working on the continual production of our community news sharing initiative: Carrbridge News.

QUAD BIKE TREKS: ROTHIEMURCHS & ALVIE ESTATE

This short promotional film was produced a few days ago for Highland Venture, a local company that run Quad Treks in Rothiemurchus Estate and Alvie Estate.

"Whatever the time of year, there is nothing quite like the experience of quad bike trekking in the heart of the magnificent Cairngorms National Park"

We were out and about today in the village filming for Episode Two of Carrbridge News, due for release at the end of February.

There have also been a number of other movements within Carrbridge News as a project. The website and general appearance of the initiative has been given a brief face lift and we also now offer visitors to www.carrbridgenews.co.uk the opportunity to read as well as watch the news - with the introduction of a blog combining news from aggregated news sources (which is also linked into our new twitter page @carrbridgenews).

We want your old photos!

This may seem a little strange...but we are asking for all locals, and anyone in the wider region, who have old photos from the past of Carrbridge to send them to us. Preferably by email if they can be scanned but if not then just pass them on to one of the group and we'll scan it and pass it back - we guarantee great care will be taken with this proccess!

Why do you want them?

Well, we plan to release a booklet, free of charge to all village residents (as part of the Carrbridge News initiative) which features, as well as 'Memories of 2010' a 'Then and Now' sections with old photos - the idea being to create a nice wee keepsake for all those in the village to enjoy for years to come!
